Wines that are singular, compelling and beautiful rely on great vineyards and proper farming in union with a healthy dose of confidence, determination and style.

Like great food, they cannot exist without superior ‘raw materials’, the land where those are grown, and a steady hand to shape them.

The many microclimates of Santa Ynez valley’s hillsides and canyons are a product of this valley’s unique east-west orientation, which allows for a direct and constant influence of the Pacific: once the sun has risen, warm air continually ascends and creates a vacuum that draws cold ocean air inland. The range of climates enables many varieties of grapes to grow in ideal conditions, and the air’s saline quality leaves its imprint on the grapes we grow here, and gives the wines a singular character.
