The Numbers
How important are they?
…1,500 (the thread count of the Egyptian cotton used in the world’s finest bedding)
…267 – (the claimed mph top speed of the Bugatti Veyron)
…10 million (the number of colors the human eye detects)
…- 27 (the lowest temperature ever recorded in Chicago...with wind chill - 83, on 1/20/85)
…2.8 – (the claimed seconds required to accelerate from 0-60 mph on my yellow motorbike ...although I’m not sure they’re right about that)
…36-24-36 ('claimed' measurements of many Playboy ‘bunnies’ featured throughout most of the 1970’s ...my favorite era of that fine publication)
Without question, these are all really important numbers. However, by themselves, they don’t tell the full story. The alternatives are generally preferable – words, better; experiencing it yourself, well as they say ‘priceless’. Because numbers by themselves can be misleading, we leave them off the reviews on the wine pages of this website. But for those who just can’t do without, here you go...
